READ THIS IF:
– You love bands of misfits.
– You’ve ever thought: “You know what pairs well with piping hot betrayal and murder? Chinese takeout.”
LET ME BE FRANK:
1. I enjoyed this book.
2. I struggled to like the protagonist for the entire first half of it. The opening scene starts off SO STRONG, but I couldn’t identify with her inner voice after that and actually found her annoying at times.
BEAR WITH ME, THOUGH.
Halfway through, everything changes.
Yes, everything I love about this book is in the second half. What the first half lacks, it begins to make up for it in the second with action, twists, betrayal, and world-building that my heart craves in storytelling.
I finished it wanting to jump straight into the second, and that’s always a good sign to me.
